Higienistki i asystentki stomatologiczne pełnią istotną funkcję w edukacji pacjentów w zakresie prawidłowych nawyków higienicznych, instruktażu higieny protez oraz wczesnego rozpoznawania zmian zapalnych błony śluzowej jamy ustnej.

ABSTRACT
Denture stomatitis is a common complication observed in patients using removable dental prostheses. Its etiology is multifactorial and includes microbial colonization, inadequate denture hygiene, mechanical irritation, and systemic factors. Proper oral hygiene and appropriate denture care play a crucial role in preventing these lesions.
Dental hygienists and dental assistants play an important role in patient education regarding proper hygiene habits, denture care instructions, and early recognition of inflammatory changes in the oral mucosa. Regular professional hygiene visits contribute not only to improved smile aesthetics but also to effective prevention of periodontal diseases and dental caries.
Early identification of risk factors and appropriate patient education are essential elements in the prevention of denture stomatitis.
